Super busy-ass day. Left work as soon as I could, went to Kirkland, bought crap, came back to King Zoo (home of Mr. Yuck) to drop off and install the goods, and went straight home from there. Elapsed time: five and a half hours. It was just one of those days where you never stop traveling.
I have to remain conscious of where my head is pointing while I'm thinking, or else I wind up staring straight at someone with this hateful grimace and not even realizing that they're there. At the music store I became especially conscious of this after running through a mental inventory of equipment and performing a simulated check on everything, in order to find the things necessary to remedy every possible failed check. "Spare 9 volt adaptor!" I said out loud, realizing that I was glaring at the synth salesman. No, no, guy, you didn't do anything wrong. It wasn't meant as an insult. Ah well.
When I was finished collecting things to buy, it was revealed that they had no large plastic bags for me to contain my purchases within. One of the guys wound up going next door (to "Andrew's Hallmark") to fetch a big bag. When he returned with the sack (the "transactionsack"), the first thing he said was, "Everyone that works at Hallmark is a girl!". Odd. Everyone that works at the music store is a boy. Employees exchanged transparent glances all around. hee hoo hoo
"do you have eyedroppers?"
"The what? For like to jam in ass and squirt?"
"uh ... negative." - leisuretownThe Pentium III was annouced by intel on monday. Then, Brett announced it to me, and promptly failed to find any trace of a press release anywhere. Searching for it, I found out that it had been announced earlier in the year. April 1st, in fact. After making fun of Brett for about an hour, I finally found the real press release. I was sort of hoping that excite had found the old april fool's joke and fell for it. Perhaps the market's reaction to the joke persuaded intel that it would be a good time to announce (or even create) the thing for real.
