New autogen should work better and make posting easier. Goooood.
Trying to buy dialup in the Seattle area. So many choices, I might as well pick one blindly rather than spend months and months a) waiting for US WEST to get over the fact that Ed canceled his line (it would have been a better idea to order the megabit on my line, since he was leaving) or b) trying to decide on one of the 8 thousand ISPs in the area. Blind guess time. I can always cancel, eh. (preemptively crossing GST and AOL off list)
Brett and his woman, I guess, are through. Weirdly, this makes me want to go break up. I am resisting the urge, as it is clearly a stupid impulse I should think about more. grgh. What I really want right now is to be in control of my scheduling, always, with all time available to be allocated to any stupid thing I can think up without worrying about neglecting some person or other. Perhaps the real problem is that I'm not with someone I WANT to spend a whole lot of time with, and am consequently still pursuing other activities which can be mutually exclusive to spending time with people. I already did this breakup on a dime thing once. Maybe that was a good idea. I am stupid and will piss people off. YEee.
Only 2 days left in the current Programming Contest (nuclear explosion), and no one has entered. I think people are ticked off at the results of the last one. I think they are also mad because Mincus does not appear to be such a great coder and he doesn't post much interesting stuff on his page, but he requests source code from every entrant. It makes me want to start my own programming contest, where the rules will be fair and enforced, and maybe the prize will be everyone's source code. Hmm, maybe that's not a good idea. Or maybe you just get access to all source code rated equal or lower to your own. And I could throw in other dumb prizes, like a MR YUCK CD. Ha ha ho ho
