26: Homer Street

    Seriously two way

If there's one thing the city of Vancouver wants you to know, it's that Homer St. now has TWO WAY TRAFFIC on it. Giant signs declaring this are hung from the sky every block! Pylons with two-way arrows marked on them are arrayed down the center of the street at 30 foot intervals. No, wait - 10 meter intervals. 1 decameter intervals? What? Oh sure, they make the system all sensible and metric, but then don't use some of the units at all. Ever walked a hectometer? Of course - all the time! The length of a football field, pretty much! But no one uses it to describe walking distances.

Anyway, unit rant aside, it was a great, lazy day. t4S let us check out late, we ate at Rangoli, the lunch version of Vij's fine Indian restaurant. A little bit of overly aggressive traffic control at the border later and we were headed back home in the states, still a little salty from Kayaking like maniacs.
