29: Ones duh day

Ok sick of beef jerky now

How was today different from every other day? Well for one, I am more experienced today than in any previous day of my life. Unfortunately, this has been true for every single one of those other days, so I guess that's not much for a unique point. Fine, maybe something weird happened today?

Well, I do often like to describe my lunch in great detail. Unfortunately it was enchiladas, an item which shows up for too often in my historical lunch records. No lunch discussion. Eat the enchilada and shut up about it.

Oh, I had a cupcake in the morning instead of breakfast, at my local cupcakery, Cafe Verite. There I heard that a New York cupcake chain was opening a store in town. Or rather, in Bellevue, which is sort of the Seattle equivalent of the fancy but bland yuppie suburb. Bellevue has grown into a full sized urb, though, but has thus far stubbornly resisted growing any kind of community culture. Bellevue Square mall is a terrifying example of a zombie white bread institution, absolutely blank face, immaculate coiffure. I can feel the plastic growing on me when I go there.

Anyway, New York Cupcake Chain will be perfect for Bellevue. It sounds like it is high-class and chic, even before you try the frosting. Hell, maybe they will make such artful cupcakes that you can buy them and leave them in a cake vault in the living room, without ever having to taste the lard cream. Oooh lard cream is a tempting metaphor for Bellevue. I have friends that live and work there, though, so it can't be all bad. I mean, we can torture the metaphor a little and say they're, like, chocolate jimmies or whatever.

Meanwhile, cupcake Verite makes frosting the ten-pounds-of-butter way, maintaining a shrewd grasp of its own cultural position in the artsy and not-only-a-little-gay neighborhood which it borders on. They even had marchers in the recent pride parade - "Jody and the Sprinkle Bitches", if I'm not mistaken. I even saw a custom made "Sprinkle Bitch" cupcake shirt this morning. I'm not sure that could even exist in Bellevue. Maybe if it were "Jody and the Sprinkle Princesses."

Anyway, that was the most unique part of today. I did regular work stuff, like typing a lot and reading things that weren't sentences. I think I even looked over a gantt chart today. |-----wew-----| |-----bored----| |-lunch-|
