COMPUTERY MOD MUSIC

From 1985 to 1996, the only computer I had was an Amiga 500. It was small and had a miniscule amount of memory, but the music it played always sounded ten times better than what was playing on the nearest IBM compatible. What was it? It was MOD music.

Originating in the Amiga demoscene, MOD music used custom wave tables and pattern structures to good effect. Many of my musical influences were purely MOD composers. It has been a long time since I wrote any MOD music. I think one or two of the ones I wrote in the early 90s are on the Aminet CD-ROM. Anyway. I love these guys.

To play MOD music, you need a MOD player. They have them for Windows, Mac, and Linux. (but I don't have the links yet)

Purple Motion's song for Future Crew's legendary "Second Reality" demo. Purple motion seems to have inspired more MOD musicians than any other single composer. He was born in 1976. Augh

I have so many MODs. It's really a project for a day to get them on here. Someday, probably when I have a faster connection (i.e. job).
